Naruto Chapter 446: I Just Wanted to Protect Them
Recap:
This chapter picks up right where the flashback left off with the Rain Trio collecting themselves after the battle they witnessed between Hanzo and the Sannin....Nagato's retelling starts moving along while Kishi's intertwines flashback with the present. A couple of pages are burned up because ..... they are essentially the same flashback as with Jiraiya and his flashback....of Rain....and meeting the Rain Trio...As Nagato continues we finally get to the Second Pain....Yahiko's Sacrifice.....The Trio's group is formed and has become formidable that even Hanzo can no longer ignore it. Being idealistic and naive, the Rain Trio agree to a deal under the guise of peace that turns out to be a Trap. The emerging focal bad guy from Konoha that shows up is none other than....(drum roll please) Danzo.....The chapter ends with Yahiko impaling himself on the blade of Nagato in hopes to save Konan and Nagato from this betrayal.....Thus the culmination of Jiraiya's teachings that were heavily riddled throughout the chapter melt away as Nagato enters into his Second Pain. (Oh and they talked a little about Rokudou Sennin.....and how he was a messiah type character that tried to bring peace to the world through his religion of Ninjutsu and Chakra mastery.) :)
My Take:
Well although semi-interesting and mildly thought provoking. This chapter is merely a stepping stone to a greater plot in the story. The most pivotal part in this story is Danzo and Hanzo's alliance. Danzo is being set up as the quintessential bad guy that everyone wants to see get his just desserts.......for all of the trouble he's at the center of. Kishimoto is starting to wrap a nice little bow to fit this black box in which Danzo is tucked away neatly in. What I mean to say is.........
1. Uchiha Incident tied to Danzo (theorizing a bit but I believe Danzo helped orchestrate the Massacre..since Tob/Madara was lying to a degree)
Basically what I'm saying is the importance of Kishi tying another thing to Danzo gives Kishi the way to kill an "evil guy" all the while solving a lot of problems caused by said evil guy..... I think Kishi is setting up the pieces for the next big arc with Danzo.....so therefore Danzo being tied to a lot of bad blood and new betrayals allows and justifies the wrath that he must face.......
I wouldn't be surprised if Danzo will be tied to Madara somehow..........in someway just because those two are very cut throat and manipulative........similar if you will.... :) ..... More importantly I hope Danzo isn't in the explanation of Madara himself........just because of the bait that most newbies...bite....y'know (Danzo's right eye is covering up a Sharingan and thus is Madara henged or is posing as Madara) .... God I hope that's not the case at all...(even though I coudn't see how it could be..)...however from their brutal mentality they aren't that different.....so they may be allies for an ends to a means....
With Nagato and Madara connected and how Madara is manipulating Nagato like he's doing with Sasuke......Danzo seems to be the piece in both cases that indirectly and/or directly caused the initial splash for Madara's wake.....so we'll see if the two are connected.......
It's even suggested that Danzo hates Konoha as it is now......in a sense like Madara does.....still....
(Something theoretical to think about)
I know this will seem out there.....but I still think that ever since Danzo was introduced that this mission.....was just the beginning of what Danzo has been planning all along.....(take over as Hokage...)... and possibly something even bigger.......It's easy to say..."well MX Sai's mission was really to kill Sasuke......by posing as a spy for Orochimaru/Danzo against Konoha.".... I say to that now....that Sai could possibly still be on his mission......however it's possible that he's changed to be an ally for Naruto.....but what a Double Cross if Sai is still in the tank for Danzo......it would take the story to a deeper level.......if that happened......however I don't think currently that will be the case......
I think Kishi will possibly do the Double Cross that will leave fans in awe and anger at Sai........,but it will be followed up by a Double Double Cross because of Sai's connection to Naruto and the bond they share will overcome Danzo's brainwashing...and be key in Naruto's escape from Danzo's clutches......plus....Sai I think will be Ino's husband one day...... lol....
Now I know many fans make a joke of......this. I challenge you to think about.......the purpose of Sasuke's visit......to Granny Cat..... and this.....It makes sense to me.... I think the Nin-cats have been on to Danzo and Madara......spying....and so forth...(I'm serious).....or else the purpose for introducing them is really pointless.......so you have to ask yourself...."What's the point of the Nin-Cats and the Uchiha Hideout and Granny Cat and granddaughter...etc..."....well the obvious one is Sasuke needed supplies....but the other one and bigger plot picture is (I believe)......the connection to Danzo and the next plot afoot.......
It's been bugging me why Kishi made a big deal about the cat on the roof........but since Granny Cat and Nin Cats have been introduced.....it seems that they specialize in info gathering and it seems that they could be another key in aiding Sasuke in someway.......directly or indirectly....and/or if Naruto leaves the village escaping.....running into Killer Bee but also running into Granny Cat and/or Daughter.....she may shed some light on the subject for Naruto....of the info's she's gathered and the Uchiha History....etc..... so keep that in mind...
